The school of specialisation
Mapenane is officially School of Specialisation that cater for our learners with above average aptitude in a specific field. To be considered for the placement in our School of Specialisation, an applicant learners are required to write / participate in an Admissions Test (practical or written) and obtain an above average mark. Our Schools offers ONE of the following five fields of specialisation: Sports, Maths Science and ICT, Commerce and Entrepreneurship, Engineering or Performing and Creative Arts.
How to Apply
To be considered for the placement in our School of Specialisation, an applicant learner must require to write / participate in an Admissions Test (practical or written) and obtain an above average mark.
Only parents applying for Grade 8 learners may apply Online GDE`s Admission System. You may apply for a child a year before and also you must enroll your child in our school between 1 August and 31 October of the preceding year.
To register the following documents are compulsory: Application form from the school; Official birth certificate; Immunisation card; If you are moving your child from one school to another, submit latest school report, and a transfer card.
How To Apply At Schools Of Specialisation
Applicants applying to our school of will be required to undergo admission tests, write assessments and Parents are urged to accompany their children to that tests and trials.
The Schools of Specialisation is available on Gauteng Department of Education System for parents to apply from anywhere in the province
Select the application option “Schools of Specialisation” to apply. Please note that your child will be required to complete an Admissions Test or Audition. Only learners who pass the test will be accepted at the school.
School feeder zones are not used for placement at a School of Specialisation.
The aim of Gauteng Department of Education is to address the skills shortages in the South African economy while simultaneously bridging the gap between Grade 12 and further education and employment. SoS also look to leverage partnerships to expand learning opportunities
so that the impact on employment is visible.
